It's always so cool for Marlene and I when we bond with our clients! We love the friendships we develop while documenting our clients day. Every once in a while though, we develop a lasting friendship with our clients. Like Grace and Cliff who referred them to us, we have become such great frieneds with Amber and Sean. It was wonderful to spend the day with them in San Diego on their wedding day! I know we will have many more days of fun at Bingo, the Tin Fish, and any big bash Grace decides to throw!! Love you guys!

As promised (albeit late!) here is the wonderful wedding of Rose and Rod! They were married at the beautiful Adamson House in Malibu and the day could not have been more perfect! We also had the opportunity to work once again with Angel Swanson of Events of Love and Splendor and Kristin of The Treasured Petal! Both are such amazing vendors!

Congratulations Rose and Rod, your love for each other is such an inspiration!!

of celebrations and butterflies....

A few weeks ago Marlene and I took the kids to the natural history museum. They had a temporary exhibit of butterflies that Zoe insisted we see. I complained about the extra charge of $3 per person, and even more when she wanted a basket where she could grow butterflies. A few days later Marlene sent for for the caterpillars and when they arrived in the mail we began watching them eat, spin silk, and finally build their cocoons. A few days later they came out of their coccoons as beautiful butterflies. Ironically they hatched right when my grandmother had the stroke. Zoe, however, insisted that we wait to release them for some reason. The reason may have been that she was able to release them at my grandma's funeral. It was a beautiful symbol and I know her "Grandma D" loved it!

As we said our goodbye's to Grandma yesterday, I realized that we will not just celebrate her life for a few days. Rather, she will always be in all that she touched and thus we will celebrate her life everyday.

I apologize for being out of commission for a bit. We have an exciting wedding tomorrow, and a new blog post from the wonderful wedding we did last weekend coming soon. Thank you all for the beautiful comments, cards, emails and telephone calls I received during this time. They are much appreciated.

a beautiful soul......

So I have been keeping some personal info quiet for a bit. Grandma always seemed invincible to me. She was born in Sioux City, Iowa, lived through the depression, raised a family and enjoyed five great-grandchildren. From the time I was a child she was my protector. She cared for me, she loved me and she made sure my mom wasn't too hard on me. She lived two block away from my family and she was such an integral part of my life. In 19 days she would have been 90, but God had different plans for her. After a long battle with congestive heart failure and leukemia, a stroke silenced her beautiful voice and stole her soft smile about a week ago.

Unfortunately for us, grandma left this world last night but she beat her pain, she is still invincible to me. She was in a hospice facility in Covina for the last three days. The entire family could be with her until the end. Marlene and I were with her on Friday and after our wedding on Saturday we spent more time with her. Ray and Zoe were both able to say goodbye. I was fortunate to be by her side when she passed. My family will be celebrating her life over the next few days.

I will certainly miss her, but Grandma will always be the beautiful soul looking over us. Hug your loved ones my friends.....

Family.....

Some weeks ago, I was privileged to take some family portraits for one of our favorite couples Jolene and Gerric Jolene's family is so awesome and unfortunately had some challenges last year, but have really shown how a close family and prayer can overcome all. I hope these images show what a beautiful and strong family they are.

Mercy and Brian were married in Claremont CA and had their fabulous reception at the Kellogg house in Pomona. Marlene and I really enjoyed the love these two share, and we are so happy we were their photographers!

I would also like to give a special thanks to the incredible Angel Swanson of Events of Love and Splendor for putting together such a wonderful day! Beautiful florals were provided by The Treasured Petal!

Web Site and Email Down....Again...

UPDATE: My email and website is finally up after 48+ hours down. Unfortunatley it seems I lost all emails that were sent since Saturday, so if I did not respond, hit me back!

Another note that my email is down once again!! Now my website is now down also. I apologize for the inconvenience and I am really getting frustrated with this. Email being down for more than 24 hours, six times in four weeks is unacceptable. Again if you need me, or you have an inquiry please contact me at the email below:

or you can call me at 714.213.1716

Thank you,
