More Inspiration.....

Her Billie Holiday-esque voice with a 70's vibe just makes me want to be creative, thank goodness I am an artist! Pick it up, it won't disappoint! Thanks for making music Ms. Badu.

Everyday........

I have been wanting to photograph this dock for some time. The company provides all the little trinkets you find at Target and there are always trucks parked there. I love the colors, the simplicity, and the randomness of the image. Things like this really inspire me. Sorry, had to share....

What Can I Say...

So I was looking through an old hard drive the other night for some photos and I came across this photo! It was from a shoot in late 2000 with the band Wild Orchid. You may have never heard of them, but you definitely know the girl to my right. Yes it's a pre-Black Eyed Peas Fergie, back when she was known as Stacy Ferguson!

Priest or Police......

Zoe got a huge surprise today when her Uncle Darryl visited her class for "Community Helpers Day" Besides Zoe's godfather, my Best man and one of my best friends, Darryl is also a Los Angeles County Probation Officer. He is one of the most amazing people I know and has had a huge impact on my life since I met him 12 years ago. He has truly been my police and priest! Darryl brought Zoe's class badges, pencils, loli-pops and a cool trading card with his picture on it! I also invited my friend Cristine, who is a Deputy District Attorney, to speak! Darryl also got Zoe a special gift, a dog that actually grows and responds to her name! She loved it!

What is so amazing is he took the time to do this even though he is going in for a cornea transplant tomorrow. If it is your way, I would ask for your prayers for a speedy recovery!

Hole In My heart.....

I used it as a kid, relied on it when I was shooting medium format, and fell in love with its simplicity (again) after I was deep into digital. Yes friends I am talking about Polaroid film. It produced instant images way before anyone knew what a digital camera was, and now Polaroid is saying enough is enough. They plan on discontinuing the beloved film and all supplies should be exhausted by 2009. They do plan to license it to other companies, but it just won't be the same. Let the hoarding begin!!!

Highlights......

There is nothing as simple as spending a Saturday afternoon at a child's birthday party. We celebrated Jacob's first birthday. Jacob is Marlene's god child and son of her best friend Rachel. I stole Marlene's Canon SD750 to make these images.

At the end of a slow dance.....

We just got home from the father/daughter dance and Zoe crashed on the couch! She was a little upset with me because I did not win a prize for her during the hula hoop contest. Here is a little peek at what happened after the failed attempt at winning a prize....

To be fair, I think she was really tired and maybe getting a little sick. The good news is she ended up winning a prize during the raffle, so nobody got hurt! More fun later!

UPDATE!!!

Here are some photos of Zoe and I at the dance. She is in a better mood here!
