Mom and Pops, Part of the Team.....

Wedding photography is a huge undertaking. It's so much more than just showing up and snapping some creative photos. From promotion, to booking clients, to preparation for the big day, to the actual day, editing the photos and finally the presentation of the final product, there are many steps in the process. Marlene and I usually take care of all the details, however there is one aspect I often overlook on my blog, the contribution of my parents.

My mom and dad play a tremendous part in our weddings by being our trusted babysitters. They are what help keep us creative because we do not have to worry about Ray and Zoƫ. We drop them off and know they will be fed, watched over and taken care of! When we have back-to-back weddings, or late night weddings, they spend the night. So when we show up to your wedding calm and relaxed and without worry, it's because mom and pops are part of the team.

I am so fortunate to have parents like them. They have always been supportive of my endeavors in life. My mom first introduced me to photography and always encouraged my artistic abilities. As they enter into their 38th year of marriage in December, they continue to amaze me with their unending support of me, and now my family. I can only hope I am half as good as a parent as they have been.

Below is their wedding picture they recently had restored. They received 25 photos for $250 in 1969. My packages are a steal compared to that!

p.s. Marlene’s parents have also saved the day several times as babysitters, as has my brother Tom and brother and sister-in-law Christine and Ted! Thanks guys!

What a great post. Thanks to your mom and pops, you were able to shoot our wedding nearly 2 years ago. You're right, your packages are a steal!!! :) Hope you, Marlene and the kids are doing well.
